Summer Camp

8 weeks - June 24th - August 16th

Want to give your kids an active, social, wholesome, educational, fun experience outside your home? Send ‘em our way! Rock climbing is a phenomenal way for kids to develop physical and mental strength, balance, body awareness, self-confidence and friendships.

All of our summer camps maintain a small enough ratio of participants to instructors to allow us to cater each session to the ability-level, interests and maturity-levels of each participant. Whether your kid has never touched a rock climbing hold or has climbed competitively for years, we’ll make sure they stay engaged and appropriately challenged.

Summer Indoor Day Camp

Monday - Friday: 9am-12pm

Level 1: Ages 5-8

Level 2: Ages 8-10

In this summer camp, participants will learn how to fall properly, how to warm up, learn (or continue to develop) climbing technique, learn basic climbing terminology, and how to ‘read’ and ‘project’ routes, all through games and activities--we believe they learn better when they’re having fun.

Other activities may include yoga for kids, romps to local parks and arts and crafts.

summer INDOOR/OUTDOOR CAMP

with Outdoor Climbing Friday

Monday - Thursday: 9am-12pm

Friday: 9am-4pm

Ages 8-12

Participants will spend the first three days learning rock climbing skills and techniques through games. On Thursday, our instructors will  teach the campers basic rope climbing skills--how to put on a harness, how to tie a figure 8 knot and how to belay.

On Friday morning, we’ll transport the kids to one of our local crags (we will select the specific location each week based on the weather forecast and the size and ability level of the group).

At the crag, our team of certified rock climbing instructors will set up ropes and campers will have the opportunity to put the skills they’ve worked on all week to use on real rock.

Summer Outdoor Adventure Camp

Monday - Friday: 9am-3:30pm

Level 1: Ages 10 and up

Level 2: Ages 12 and up

The ultimate climbing adventure camp, where kiddos get to spend every day in the great outdoors!

We’ll spend the first day learning the basics of climbing outdoors and do a little climbing inside. Over the next four days, participants will get the opportunity to climb some of the coolest rock formations, swim in some of the clearest lakes, and hike to the most breathtaking viewpoints in Hood River, the Gorge, and surrounding areas.

By the end of each day, we’ll return your kiddo tired, a bit dirty, more knowledgeable about the outdoors and ready for another day of adventure.

Please note that this year we are splitting our summer camps up by age groups, with a slight overlap in camps . This is in an effort to make each camp as enjoyable an experience as possible by by having kids socialize and learn with other children of similar age and energy levels. We ask that you please take a look at our full schedule of offerings and register your child for the most appropriate age category for them.

If you would like to be put on the waitlist for any summer camp that is currently full please reach out to ramon@brimstoneboulders.com with the date you have in mind and we’ll get you on the list!

Do understand that we cannot, in fact, control the weather, and that outdoor climbing does not go well in the rain. In the event of rain, we will come up with other outdoor and indoor activities to keep campers engaged like hiking, rope swings, and/or more indoor climbing. Please review our cancellation policy before you reserve a spot.
