Climb with us this summer!

Have a kid who’s excited about rock climbing? Or still trying to find “their sport” and community?

Rock climbing summer camps provide a unique opportunity for kids to explore the edges of their physical and mental limits in a safe, supportive environment, and to learn to view falling not as failure, but as part of growth.

With this type of growth mindset, kids build physical strength and coordination, mental resilience and focus, and learn to support their peers as they each work towards individual goals.

Whether your kid has yet to touch a climbing hold or has climbed competitively for years, we've got a camp designed specifically for them. Read the descriptions below to find the best fit for your kid’s age and level of interest, skill and experience.

Indoor Climbing Camp

9am-12pm

Ages: 5-9

Climbing Skill Level: Never Climbed - Intermediate

Climbing Stoke Level: Intrigued - Excited

In these sessions, participants will learn how to fall properly, how to warm up, learn (or continue to develop) climbing technique, learn basic climbing terminology, and how to ‘read’ and ‘project’ routes, all through games and activities--we believe they learn better if they have fun.

Other activities may include swimming at the waterfront, romps to local parks and arts and crafts.

Outdoor Adventure Camp

9am-3pm

Adventure camps will spend a little time in the climbing gym learning or refreshing their rope climbing skills, and most of the week in the great outdoor playground of the Gorge.

Campers will get to climb fun rocks in stunning locations, hike to spectacular viewpoints and swim in refreshing lakes.

At the end of each day, we’ll return your kiddo tired, a little dusty, more knowledgeable about the outdoors and ready for another day of adventure.

This year, we’ve divided Outdoor Adventure Camp into three levels in order to cater each session more specifically to the experience and excitement level of each group of campers. Check out the descriptions below to find the best fit for your climber.

Level I

Ages: 8-12

Climbing Skill Level: Beginner - Intermediate

Climbing Stoke Level: Curious - Excited

Days of Outdoor Climbing: 1-2

These sessions will prepare kids to climb outside, and culminate in a day or two of climbing on real rock. In addition to learning or improving their rock climbing technique, these campers will learn basic rope climbing skills like how to put on a harness, tie a figure 8 knot and toprope belay–and spend a lot of time playing outside.

Level 2

Ages: 10+

Climbing Skill Level: Have Climbed Before

Climbing Stoke Level: Excited

Days of Outdoor Climbing: 2-3

This session is the ideal camp for kids who’ve climbed before, know they like it and are excited to play on some real rock. We’ll spend a little time indoors learning or building on campers climbing technique and basic rope climbing skills, then spend most of our days climbing and playing outside.

Level 3

Ages: 11+

Climbing Skill Level: Able to climb V2-V3 indoors.

Climbing Stoke Level: Excited - Obsessed

Days of Outdoor Climbing: 3+

This session is specifically designed for kids who are into rock climbing, will put up with a strenuous approach if it means they get to climb at a cool crag, and is into spending rest days scrubbing boulders and watching climbing films. Previous belay experience recommended, not required.
