Jenna Austin was born and raised in Flagstaff, Arizona, where she discovered her love for climbing on the limestone roofs and sandstone cliffs under the heat of the desert sun. Her passion for the natural world led her to pursue a degree in Environmental and Sustainability Studies, which led to an internship with Flagstaff Foodlink, then work on urban farms in Oakland and Berkeley, California. These experiences deepened her commitment to building a more just and accessible food system.
After managing an organic farm in Arizona for three years, Jenna moved to the Columbia River Gorge in 2023 to join Rogue Farm Corps, a program dedicated to training new farmers in ecological, regenerative and organic practices. She spent two growing seasons working on an organic farm in Parkdale, Oregon, gaining hands-on experience and expanding her connection to land-based work.
In 2025, Jenna made an intentional decision to take a break from farming to prioritize rest, recovery, and reconnecting with her body through movement—especially climbing. Driven by a deep belief in the power of community, she took on a role as a Lead Youth Programs Assistant at Brimstone Boulders–it’s the highlight of her week every time she gets to be surrounded by children and connect with each one in a unique way.
