Lead Youth Program Instructor
Want to help inspire a love of climbing in the youth of the Gorge? We’re on the hunt for a lead instructor for Brimstone Youth Programs. This position follows the school year with an option to transition to summer camps. You will help teach tiny crushers the basics of climbing through instruction and games, supported by the youth program director.
In order to be considered for a position, candidates must have a passion for working with, supervising and entertaining kids, an interest in rock climbing and the ability to:
Self Direct: This position requires instructors to create weekly class plans, with support and help from the youth program director.
Communicate effectively and respectfully with parents and guardians.
Communicate and commit to availability in advance.
Pass a criminal background check.
Bonus Points for:
Experience instructing, managing and entertaining groups of kids.
CPR and/or First Aid Certifications.
A clean driving record.
Fluency in Spanish.
Rock climbing experience and familiarity with climbing terms and techniques.
Outdoor rock climbing experience.
The right culture fit will get priority over climbing specific experience.
The Particulars:
Commitment: 5-8 hours per week, September - May
Pay Rate: $17.50
Potential Shifts May Include:
Afterschool Programs - Monday, Wednesday, Thursday - 3:30-5pm
Birthday Parties - Saturday, Sunday - 12-2pm, 3-5pm
Parents Night Out - First & Third Fridays - 5-8pm
