Ramón Ramirez

Youth Program Coordinator, Team Member

Ramón Ramirez grew up in Hood River, and did every team sport he could. But, it took a move to Eugene to attend the University of Oregon for him to discover his love for the outdoors. In Eugene, Ramón found photography, hiking and backpacking. Then, he and his roommate registered for a climbing class to fulfill a P.E. credit. He made it to the top of his first route, and fell in love with climbing then and there.

A few years after he graduated from college, and with a push from the COVID-19 pandemic, it was time for Ramón to move on from his college town. With his newfound appreciation for the outdoors, his old hometown made for the perfect landing spot.

Ramón brings with him a strong enthusiasm for climbing, a love of helping others achieve their goals, and a desire to see the climbing community become more diverse and accessible to anyone.

In his time off, he watches movies, cuddles with his partner, cats and dogs, plays Dungeons and Dragons with his friend and writes bad stand-up comedy.
