Alexis Gascon

Team Member, Youth Programs

Alexis Gascon has two great passions in her professional life: getting kids stoked on outdoor recreation, and getting kids stoked on math--which makes her an obvious fit for our odd, quirky and passionate team at Brimstone.

Alexis started climbing at age fourteen in her hometown of Colorado Springs. Climbing made for a good, grounding balance for all of the sparkles of her thirteen years as a competitive figure skater. Climbing stuck. So did some of the figure skating flare--her favorite piece of trad gear is her pink tricam.

After high school, Alexis moved to Portland to earn a bachelors in mathematics at Portland State and a Single Pitch Instructor certification at Smith Rock. Summers, she worked as a climbing instructor at a sleep away camp for girls in Western North Carolina.

These days, you can find Alexis climbing, whitewater kayaking, skiing, working on a Master’s in Teaching Secondary Math, eating fried chicken or rollerblading--which she took up during quarantine.
